Milam County was long the home of numerous natives. Artifacts abound and are most often found along the rivers and creeks that were their homes and hunting grounds. Fishing weights were frequently lost then as they are now. Many are found on the banks of rivers and streams

In addition to the numerous scrapers and unidentified flint work, the mamoth tooth shows what was in Milam County even before the Indians.
