Little River is crossed by CR406 with a large iron bridge. This will be a special trip because the surrounding area is beautiful and it is on the way to nowhere unless you are local.

To the right of the road, just past the end of the bridge is a derelict log cabin. It was probably a fishing camp ... what a fantastic place for a picnic. A nice yard surrounds the cabin and there are many good trails down to the river. You can just barely see the cabin through the trees to the right of the bridge.

You can get to this site best from Buckholts. Follow FM1915 all the way to CR 405, then enjoy the view as you cross Donahoe Creek (see right). Drive on to join CR406, which comes from Val Verde. When you cross Owl Hollow, be prepared for a splash at the low water bridge (below).

Don't worry if Owl Hollow looks like this. It is a concrete low water bridge, not a mud puddle.
