Sneed Cemetery

 
Sneed cemetery is near the original site of J. P. Sneed's Chapel (1880 - 1953) and  this historic figure rests in the cemetery.

Located through a gate off of CR-270 near the old community of Cross Roads.  Appropriate access to the Cemetery is allowed. The sign below is beside the gate.

Georgie B. Sneed

(1856 - 1884)

J. T. Sneed, husband of Georgie was the son of J. P., the Methodist circuit rider. J. T. made quite a fortune and, after the death of Georgie, married her younger sister. They moved to Georgetown where J.T. was shot dead at age 61 in the post office by a tenant farmer. J. T. and his second wife are buried in Georgetown (Williamson County).

The White family is well represented in Sneed Cemetery.
